Honestly, if the main use of IE6 is due to "corporate office" (which again, is an average of 3% of these web sites total users), these people shouldn't be surfing the internet for my client's in the first place when they're at work. And again, the IT departments of these companies using an ancient browser can install a decent, alternative browser and just use IE6 for the applications that require it.

This is how I feel about the situation, and my clients are well aware of the fact. It's not like I don't program for IE6 and hide it from them, they have the option of paying MORE for IE6 compatibility or an alternative IE6 redirected web site.

Did I stutter?
IE6 hacks or an alternative web site creates more billable hours, so of course I'm going to charge for my time.

Yes, I'm aware of that.
I have 5-6 web sites on that account that are being moved and a few have databases, so my database programmer has to take care of that and they will be up tomorrow morning, I think.

I do understand charging for your time, as much of the work I do is on an hourly basis. However, I disagree that IE6 compatibility should be optional. Although it is a pain sometimes, I'm afraid that I will be continuing to support this browser for a couple of years yet. I don't let it hold me back, and often send less-advanced layouts to IE6 so that my freedom in the better browsers is not restricted.

GeorgeB - did you get this sorted out? I checked it out in firefox and in ie6 and it looks good to me.

As for the debate - Nearly 33% of the users on the biggest site I work on (for a nationwide business) still use IE6 according to my analytics. Plus, the corporate office I work for refuses to upgrade the PCs to IE7 here as well. Must be a corporate thing. I think outside of the techie world, IE6 is far from obsolete.

Wow.. two pages and no one addressed the problem?

Looks okay to me on the IE6 vm I have.. The video does not appear shifted right..?
Ill try some other screen adjustments and see if that makes any difference.

One thing that looks odd though is the forced size constrainst on some of your Img tags.. they dont appear to be the proper size of the graphic and they are messing up the aspect ratio.. also known as the squishy head syndrome for both McCain and Obama.. hehe
