Something clicked with me today...

Not my mouse - But the whole concept of using CSS for layout and ditching tables altogether!
For years I've been using nested tables to create sites and thought that I could achieve almost anything with them (as long as I had a few spacer gifs handy!)

I just couldn't get my head round something that up until then, I had used to change the colour of text on a page....

I'm a frequent question asker on this site and still (and always probably will) get stuck on even the simplest of things but today I built quite a complex layout using ONLY CSS with absolutely NO TABLES at all and amazed myself that I was actually finished in half the time I predicted it would have taken using tables.

So today, I finally get it - The reason LadynRed is so adamant that CSS is the answer to all layout problems Because it is!

Sure, I'll still be around here every so often asking some of the most basic questions ever - but I can now confidently do something that 6 months ago I thought I would never grasp!

So to all you CSS "Newbies"... stick with it - it REALLY is worth the wait.

I've only been on this forum for a short while, but I must admit, they've got me thinking the same way you are.

I haven't built my first "totally CSS" layout yet, but I'm giving it a lot of thought.

I am learning CSS on w3schools.org. I already have a fairly good knowledge of it but I want to know as much as I can.

Congratulations! hehe. I was just as amazed when I grasped CSS and made my first CSS layout.

I still seem to been in the CSS forum an awful lot finding answers to my problems though! lol

Yea!! I am happy for you.
I think you will find that CSS layouts are so much more flexible. And don't be shy asking any questions around here - especially if you are on board with css!

Good for you Darren - I'm still learning but it gets easier and easier mate...
