Please go to http://www.platinumbusinessconsulting.com/laptops

You will see a "starburst" image towards the top. I have a regular 15" monitor, and it is positioned fine for me. Can someone with a widescreen monitor tell me how it looks? I have it set to be absolutely positioned only 2% from the left. I am assuming though, that it will look weird on a wider screen.

Also, how hard would it be to take this site and make it more "fluid" so it will be wider overall for people who have wider screens? Is this a difficult task?

Thanks for any help on these questions!

Regards,
Stephen H. Self

It looks fine, at full window width. However, when I narrow the window down, it covers the "Laptop" portion of the "Laptop Hotspot" logo. I recommend you make this relative to the #container instead of to the body.

AHA! That's what I wanted to do, but didn't know it was possible. Thanks, I will read up on how to do that!

Also, any thoughts on my second question?

Actually, do you know of a tutorial or instructions on how to make that image relative to an ID?

There's nothing to it, just place the div inside of #container and make the positioning on #container relative. Now, any absolutely positioned div inside #container will be relative to its boundaries. In this case, you could make the left slightly negative to position it with overlap.

When I do this, it puts the image above everything. I can't seem to get it to be positioned to the left. I just moved the div to be inside the #container and then removed the positioning elements from the image, but made the #container to be relative. Does this sound accurate?

Nevermind, I just figured it out! Thanks SO much for this advice. Exactly what I needed!

Still looking for some thoughts on my second question in the first post.

Thanks!
