Hey!

This is my first message so I apologize if this topic has been covered before. But I'm at work trying to finish up a project and I can't seem to figure this out. I need to vertically center a horizontal spry bar that I've built in a layer cell in Dreamweaver. I've got the spry bar looking good finally and I have no problems centering the text within the bar but other than adding padding, I can't figure out how to v-align it center. And when I do what seems should be the easiest thing, which is to add the property of v-align to center, nothing happens!

Any suggestions? thank you in advance!

If you're looking to center the bar itself within the page we have a sticky with links to different methods for centering both horizontally and vertically.

If the problem is vertically centering the text within the bar, I usually use padding myself. Centering things horizontally is fairly simple with css. Vertical centering isn't quite so nice and neat. The links in the sticky do describe some ways to make it work, but even then they aren't ideal in my opinion.

valign is ineffective in this case, so stop wasting your time.
You might try setting the line-height equal to the height of your spry bar.
