Hi all... I am designing a special event rental site and they layout will eventually be fixed liquid. My question is; is it best it design the site optimized for 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768?

I think you have design it 900 X 700.

The low-end default these days is 1024x768. There may still be some people using the 8x6, but very few.

I always try to design for both screen sizes, so I usually make my sites 700px wide, or give 'em a percentage width.
