Not sure what horizontal bar you are referring to? Are you getting a horizontal "scroll bar"? I don't get that on chrome.

You may want to validate this and go over all the errors.

I don't see one on FF for Mac either.

BUT Randy's right about validating and I also see Javascript in your CSS? It's fine to use Javascript, but it needs to be an actual Javascript file (.js) and then linked in your XHTML.

The scrollbar appears at a screen width of 1024, so that means that you have something in there that is not scalable or has a fixed width of more than 1024px.
