Help with overlapping div issue

Hey all,

Here's my problem:

I have a page with two primary divs (a content div and a navigation div).... one of which uses absolute positioning (navigation), as it needs to stay visible regardless of whether the visitor is scrolling the other div. But when you contract the browser to the point you have a horizontal scroll bar -- and you scroll to the right, the main content div goes underneath the navigation div.

The page is located here:
http://fasports.com/manager/view_sta...n_id=10&week=1

So ideally what I want is exactly what I have, minus the issue of the content div being able to slide underneath the navigation div. I'm not sure if this is doable with the absolute positioning or not...

Any advice is appreciated!

The problem lies with the screen resolution. Since I have a decently big screen resolution it looks great to me but when i shrink it... i see your problem. So what you need to do is make your two divs smaller to fit smaller screen resolutions.

OR you can set your table div as absolute positioned so it won't roll over it. But you'll still have to scroll left and right to see the full page which could be annoying for the user. Your call though.

Absolute positioning is not the answer. Setting your widths to percentages will allow it to grow and/or shrink as needed.

The only reason I used the absolute positioning was to make sure the navbar would always remain visible regardless of whether they were scrolling around...

I agree about the resolution -- it looks fine on my computer too, but the people I'm designing it for like to have their browsers shrunk apparently...

I know I had used absolute positioning for the main content div before and I changed it -- but I don't remember why. I'll try that again and see how it goes... but otherwise, if anyone has another idea, I'd love to hear it!

Thanks!

Like I said, define your widths in percentages.
