Is CSS website friendlier and more beneficial than table website for the search engine?

I would like some input on this because I am about to convert a 70 pages website to CSS.

Barbara, answer is no. I have on my web site about 100 or less key word phrases -- titles, themes or headings of web pages -- on google, most of them are on 1 - 5 place. My web site has in earlier days 100 % table layout design, these days my web site has a minimal table layout design. Now I am moving toward tableless layout design. Barbara I hope you are satisfied, I hope I’m useful, I’m speaking from own experience.

As far as I know, those keywords in the header aren't of any use any more.

This is why many search engines no longer use them.

Search engines don't use the meta keywords tag, they DO pay attention to actual HEADINGS, as in Hx tags.

World, it’s just the oposite. All search engines use them at the highiest degree. Title <title></title> and heading <h1></h1> are the most important, see them at my home page <title>Web dizajn Izrada web sajtova Reklamiranje na internetu firme</title> and <h1>Web dizajn i reklamiranje na internetu - web dizajn studio Sajtoteka</h1>. If I would lie in them, visitors would move web page over and look for another web page or I’m absolutely sure 100% another web site and never returned again. In that way visitors would lost trust, reliance and confidence in my web site. It would be total disaster.
