I have made some changes to the doctype

How come that the page will fix itself in IE when I change this:

Quote:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="nl" lang="nl">
Into this:

Quote:
<!doctype html public "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
<html lang="nl">

Because you're going from a more advanced, and stricter doctype to an old loosey-goosey doctype that will let you get away with sloppy coding.

That I understand. But where did I 'goof' up? I reviewed the css code over and over again. I can't find the problem. Nore can any other browser. All works fine except IE...

It appears to be a problem with the padding and that image you have that's overlapping the edge. I'd have to download it and pick through it to find the real culprit there.
