Hi there,

My site redesign just went live and all of the sudden, my rollover image disappeared in IE6 again. I've tried the holly hack and whatever the "zoom:1;" hack is called to no avail.

If anyone can help, it will be greatly appreciated.

here's my site: http://meddevicejobs.com

Thanks,

Carter

That's not the only thing wrong in IE6. The login box is huge and out of place and form next to where the rollover should be is a mess too.

Are you sure? I was just looking at it in IE6 and it that part looked fine. If you're using browser shots or something, it shows wrong because it takes a sec to load thanks to our stupid javascript

fixed the rollover with dumb luck. Weird. Thanks for your help! I'm going to do extensive browser testing to make sure it doesn't actually look how it looks in that shot.

I was not using browser shots, I have IE6 installed on my xp desktop at home (and at work I'm stuck with it).

The question is, is the browser on both machines full patched ??

Yay! Fixed the sidebar. It was a stupid fieldset that wasn't inheriting properly. Oh well, fixed now.

Right as I fixed it the rollover disappeared again. Weak. Any suggestions would be so greatly appreciated. I've almost exhausted my options.

Thanks so very much!

Firefox and IE calculate the height of a box differently. When Firefox's contents is "floating" (and thereby not "within" the box) it reduces the box down to only its margin and padding. IE, on the other hand, still counts the "floating" contents as being "within." At least, this is my diagnosis without having seen any of your code.

Edit the parent div CSS to include a "min-height: xxxxx" This handy command is ignored by IE, but will bully Firefox into making that box at least whatever height you dictate.
