I have some issues with some compatibility issues with internet explorer. I decided to add <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" /> in order to render internet explorer users to version 7.0. That was the version with the least problems.

I have not been able to get conditional comments or any other form of IE hacks to work in order to move the div class indexDefault 30 pixels to the left. I am assuming the the old css hacks for IE do not work anymore.

I tried to figure out what the hell the real problem was but just can’t figure it out. Im hoping that someone with more skills in looking for compatibility issues can help me out.

If your forcing IE8 to IE7 functioning, then the IE7 'hacks' should work.

You've got everything nailed down with absolute positioning, and tables, no surprise you've got issues.
