I have a problem with my gradient background being displayed properly. Everything looks fine in IE 8 & Firefox but Safari is having some issues. I've attached a screenshot of what I mean. My bg image can't be too large because the other pages of my site are smaller than my gallery page. I used websafe colors for my background as well.

This is some of the css text I'm using:

background-color: #666666;
background-image:url(http://www.liesldexheimerdesign.com/bgnew.jpg);
background-repeat:repeat-x;


Any solutions to this problem?

Is the problem the fact that it stops and repeats or that your page is too wide and pushed left? I'd say you just need to remake the bg image longer.

Did you view the attachment?

It's mainly because it's repeating. The problem really seems to be a mismatch in color when viewed in Safari.

If you don't really need it to repeat horizontal I would try setting to "no-repeat" instead on using x, see if that works.

It's not doing what you've posted from the screenshot in my version of Safari. Code-wise you've done the right thing, and it's working in all the browsers I've checked.

looks fine in my safari on windows -are you using a mac?

Generally, I use my PC (using Firefox) but I thought I would check Safari on my mac laptop and that's when I noticed the problem. I'm using Safari version 4.0.4 on my Powerbook G4.

Glad to hear that some people aren't having a problem using Safari on their Mac although I still don't know why it's causing the problem on mine...

Well, I checked it on all the browsers I have, and double-checked your code, which checks out, and while I do have Safari, I don't have a Mac, so there's really nothing more I can do here. since I can't reproduce the problem.
