I'll admit...my code isn't as clean as it could be but I'm self taught and am very busy. I have been able to fix IE8 issues with alignment on my other pages....but those involved text whereas this div contains float elements. I am not sure if that is the problem here or not.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated...I basically just want all the float images to center within the background.

you cannot "float" and centre an element.

If you simply adjust the width of #soldhorses (this div is already centered)
to accommodate three .floatsale divs (including margins & border widths), these floats will fill their container div and appear centered.

#soldhorses is simply too wide at the present for three .floatsale divs and too narrow for four.
