I trying to set a simple 2column layout where first layout contain 5 pictures, and second one picture and that repeats several time.
I did find a code which works fine if firefox, but in ie is totaly screwed. So i find other code which works fine in ie,but then it totaly screwed in ff.
I downloaded some commercial program for doing html/css and seems there is tons of versions of css, starting from css1,css2,css3 and then Ie css etc.
In shortly,i want to make my site look good in ff2,3 and ie6,7,8,since those version are most common.
So which version should i learn and does anyone have example with 2 columns and 5 pictures on one and 1 on second repeating?

CSS2.1 is probably the current "standard" that most people work to at the moment so I'd say that's where to start, then, when you're comfortable with 2.1 then go on to learning about 3.0.

Learning CSS is not really a matter of which version to learn, since each version adds new rules, and does not change old rules to something else. So the answer is, what is useful and used by modern browsers?

Most of CSS 2.1 is implemented in IE8, and other standard browsers have long been compliant. CSS 3 has never been officially standardized, so all of CSS 3 implementations are unofficial.

A good place to start learning CSS is CSS Zen Garden. Its a good way to see how many possibilities can be created from a single piece of HTML.
