For once Internet explorer IS correct
the problem here is simply, Firefox makes the boxes (made in css) too big...
Internet explorer positions it perfectly (uh with the excpetion that I have to use the left:*px to position it correctly)

Take a look

http://www.uuilliam.net/lynne

Look at it in both IE and firefox!

I designed the boxes in content in photoshop first to see what it would look like, then I sliced the banner only
I then recreated the boxes using CSS
but as said, the only problem (i can see so far) is the width of the boxes and possibly alignment.

any help here will be appreciated

I have already learned a great deal from here
I hope to one day return the favour.

it should look like this:

Somehow I doubt that.

Lose the tables, do it is pure CSS and divs and get back to us.

What VERSION of IE ?? It is EXTREMELY RARE that IE gets it 'right', given it's numerous bugs (yes, even IE8!) and non-standard way of doing things!

Besides losing the horrid tables for layout, you NEED a proper DOCTYPE on EVERY page - and w/o a doctype, IE renders in QUIRKS mode - so no, IE is NOT getting anything 'right' at all.
