i use a mac computer and on a pc there was a slight difference in the output

so i need to use a separate stylesheet for a mac and pc so that whichever areas there are differences i can have a separate css file and write code only to those areas that need to be fixed but the general style would be in a global file called style.css

i am using the method at
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex9/dyncss.htm

and this works fine is this the best method to go about or is there a better and efficient way

please advice

thanks

It certainly is not the optimal way...
It would not work for me, for example, as I activate javascript only on web sites I trust, thanks to the noscript firefox extension.

The problem you have is not because of mac or pc....
It's because you use different browser on each platforms, and they render the html and css rules in a slightly different way (or totally different way, if you talk about IE).
I bet that if you try your code in chrome, firefox and safari on your computer, you would see those differences too.

The web is not a print media. You cannot pinpoint everything to the pixel like you do in a print.
If they don't degrade the look, don't take too much of your time on those small details.

And if you really want to have it perfect on every browsers, then you will need to document yourself about their rendering bugs, quircks and tricks to have them behave the way you want.

There is no absolute fix for everything.

I don't imagine it has anything to do with the operating system. Are you using the same browser on both? If so, you should look up some browser "coding hacks" for the mac or pc version of that browser.
