Here's the link.

I want to convert that top section into layers only. I want it still on the 960 grid like it is, but I need those tabs to show the background texture as it is.

Thank you! I cannot figure this out for the life of me, but I really don't want to use tables.

I'm sort of unsure as to what your asking. I see that you have two links (Not Working) at the top. Looks like you have floated some text over them as well. What else do you need?

There is no such thing as "layers"! Sorry, but that is a term held over from the old Netscape days and I wish Dreamweaver would just STOP using it!

Format your tabs in an unordered list, as they should be because that's what a menu IS. Put the background in on the <a> inside the <li> and you'll get what you want.

LadynRed, I'm so sorry. I guess I'll call them divs from now on. *bows down to the Web Standards Evangelist*.

But seriously, I'm not sure any of you are getting my question. I need to convert exactly what I have there from table form to div form.

I need those tabs transparent to show the background, and I need that white bar to be 100% across the entire top. I don't have a full working website, so I'm just trying to get the layout set up.

I understood you. What I gave you will get you the results you need. It doesn't HAVE to be inside a div, but if you must, put UL inside a div, but the list will do what you want as I outlined it.

Ok so I have ul's and li's now but it simply is not working. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Care to share some code? It's not giving me transparency, it's not bottom aligning, and I need it to be on the 940px grid too. I don't want them so far to the right.

EDIT: Ok, after some messing around I fixed a few things and got them on the grid. But I still haven't figured out how to make them transparent to show the texture paper background instead of the white.
