I have a page that I'm using a CSS menu bar that doesn't work in Firefox, then in IE the menu goes under the CSS I have as an image gallery on the page. I have my menu bar in a seperate header file and it's an 'include' in an asp page. I'm not sure why it's going under the CSS image gallery. Any ideas?

I would love to give you a url but it's not a live site. There is a lot of code to put here. I'm fairly new to css and I'm running several. I believe whatever is first overrides what is below it but I can't find anything stopping it. I've read things about margins. Are there any steadfast rules I should know to prevent overlapping of CSS files?

overlapping? of CSS rules???

CSS rules "cascade" (hence the name, Cascading Style Sheets) so the LAST specified rule will be applied to the elements that the rule targets.

So what you believe
Quote:
"I believe whatever is first overrides what is below it"
is incorrect.

LATER rules are what will apply.

And rules applied to an element as a class will be overruled by a rule applied with an ID
