I would have said nope too until a couple of weeks ago. Then I came across this short video from Net Tuts

It uses css3 and won't work in all browsers (I think it only works in webkit and mozilla based browsers), but in some situations it might work.

But yeah if you're looking for something that works in all browsers then you have to use an image.

I saw a nice PHP GD script quite some time ago that creates nice reflections from a given image on the fly.

Not sure where but there are ways to do this.

Thanks Steve, I had not seen that. Too bad it only works in webkit-based browsers - so far.

I know. It would have been nice. Maybe in IE9. I thought it was pretty cool when I watched. The quick tips videos from Net Tuts are usually very good. Similar to the one I linked to.

I have seen it done before but can't recall where I seen it now. CSS is pretty amazing stuff so just keep looking and you may find it yet.
