CSS - Different browser resolutions gives wrong results

Well guys after reading articles on here that were stickied (Thanks Ladynred), I have found out that it is usually better to use % widths / heights so that all browsers return the same rendered page.

Question;

I have designed a good few websites, coded lots of programs, designed lots of graphics etc but this one web design has got me baffled on what to change to % so that it doesn't muck up on smaller resolutions.

Can someone lend me a hand?

Appreciate any help,

Using % for an entire layout 's widths/height is guaranteed to make your page look ridiculous at various resolutions. Sounds great in theory - in practice it's an aesthetic nightmare.

Give this page's body and header 100% width with a min-width of whatever the widest page element's width is (header image being 876px - might as well make min-width 880px), place everything else in 880px wrapper.

Hmm I couldn't get it to position properly.

When viewing it on a lower resolution computer / laptop it still looks wrong as if it's been thrown all to one side.

Any ideas?
