Hey all,

I am working on a website right now and running into IE-related problems...

Here is an upload of just the layout without any underlying code: http://sustainablewaterloo.org/wip/squiggle/

The site validates fine (HTML Trans and CSS) and it looks fine in Chrome and FF. Ironically it even looks fine in IE8 when I run it locally on my machine, but as soon as I put it up on the server it breaks.

The two issues I am having right now:
  • the header has wierd spaces between the logo, search bar, and menu that are not normally there.
  • If you zoom out (not sure why you would but...) the right bar drops underneath to the left. I assume thats a float problem but it doesnt happen in FF.

Once again IE proving why it sucks.

Thanks all!

In don't have IE8 here on my laptop, but in IE Tester, with IE8, it looked fine on zooming out.

Hey all,

Thanks for the replies.

I did some more digging and it looks like this only happens when it is in compatability mode.

Does that mean that in older versions of IE users will experience this problem and can you think of what may be causing it?

Thanks

Yeah, it looks messed up in IE7. No time for me to find the problem, but that's where you should be focusing your energy.
