Not too good at explaining this but basically I want this sidebar dragged down on both sides to make the content stand out more.

pull-this-down.PNG

Where would I go to do this? How would I do this?

Am I right in saying I would need to edit some images?

Thanks,

Do you mean you want the border gradient to continue down the page?

When css3 is better supported you'll be able to stretch the background image with background-size:100%
In the meantime you could use the messier method of gaining the effect of stretching the background described here.

Yes, I mean the gradient, racerx.

Kelpie, I couldn't get that working.

Thanks,

Yes, if I am understanding this. If you would like the gradient "edges" of the 960px main area on the whole content area then you'd want to create an image so that it could be vertically repeated. It can be as little as 1px high even, but it should contain both the left and right gradient effect with the white area in the middle so it continues down the page. It should also most likely be a png so it doesn't interfere with anything else. Then repeat that background image on your main content wrapper.

You will also want to remove the xml from the top of the page and ANY white space above the DOCTYPE as well.
