i am SEO expert of this site www lelouniforms.com , its display in latest browsers is OK but in IE6 its awful , can anybody help me how to fix its outlook in IE 6 ..?? any CSS expert ??

I would start by addressing the 65 errors in validation.

I am quite certain most of your problems are due to the double margin error.

On a final note: Make these IE6 people suffer! ha!

thank you racer for replying very quickly ,it also has an IE6 fix but as i am not a CSS man so i guess it need some modifications , what can i do then ,,i have to make it look appropriate in IE6 ..

Start by trying to add display:inline; to both the .leftcol and .rightcol.

The math is
.leftcol = 231px
.rightcol = 729px
+ .rightcol margin-left of 8px
= 968px (total for current browsers)

Which you would "think" is correct because the total width is 970px (#id cover).

However, IE will double the margin left since it is floated: left; to 16px. This now totals 976px, thus greater than the defined width.

Start by trying to add display:inline; to both the .leftcol and .rightcol.

BUT -- make sure you do this using a separate css file JUST for the rules necessary to fix IE6 and call it using conditional comments.

lelouniforms.com looks fine in Firefox and Chrome but slider and other content in the left column moved down in IE ..please urgent help will be appreciated .THanks.

abdur you haven't corrected the errors. Your site now contains 133 errors:

My advice is skip IE6 support. It is a dying browser version anyway and is absolutely terrible requiring browser specific hacks. Check out: http://ie6countdown.com/
