I am writing a new website and have got something I like viewed by the Google Chrome browser 12.x.xxx.xx I'm usng a webfont, which is wonderful, however when I turn to look at the site in IE9, and Firefox 4.xxxx, the whole page is as if it is zoomed in.

When I do a cntrl-minus, it looks about right in both browsers.

Is this generally symptomatic of something? I don't have a doctype, because I couldn't decide what was best. I can fix minor issues between browsers, but the whole page looks stupid except in Google Chrome. Thanks, -jae

Start WITH a DTD

Lack of a DTD usually.

Well, if you are missing your doctype and the "DTD" (as mentioned by Chrishirst)... you'll be running in Quirks mode. Weird things tend to happen that way.

Try this:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
