Hi

I'm currently working on a website and I've tried every method on the web but my rollovers are still a little laggy. I dont understand why this is so when other websites have no problems with their rollovers. My rollovers became normal after i turned off norton firewall but i've been to other websites with my firewall on and they work fine so i'd like to know what i did wrong.

My website is http://entease.tripod.com

its at the 'wardrobe' section

p.s. could it be a tripod issue?

the rollovers seem to be fine - but what you can do it you're still having a problem is use some javascript to preload the rollover images...

nellyfant - i just tried to have a look at the rollovers in your wardrobe section in firefox - and i immediately saw that you have more pressing issues - the images seem to be all over the place. as i mentioned earlier there is no problem with the IE version!

also it should not be a problem with Tripod.

sorry i cant read

i see the problem is only in that section:

- in firefox your images dont show up...

-in IE it works perfectly.. very nice looking

---------------

HTML errors: http://validator.w3.org/check?verbos.../wardrobe.html

TONS of CSS errors:
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/v.../wardrobe.html

I would imagine these are your problems.. fix them and see what happens

i just downloaded firefox to try. How come it doesnt work in firefox??
firefox doesnt support CSS?

i basically used the CSS background to swap the images and i used absolute positioning.

Anybody know how i can solve this problem?

Firefox has much better CSS support than IE.. your CSS is not valid and firefox doesnt like that fix the problems i showed you

you have 52 HTML errors

you have 8 CSS errors

NOTE: some of those html problems are minor.. however I highly reccomend you fix all of them. One change might fix 30 problems.. just try to do what the validator says

Hi all

i've finally fixed the problem

apparently it was a matter of my "layer"(dreamweaver-talk) width that was the problem.
I usually changed the widths by dragging the box but although it looks right in Dreamweaver the width size is all wrong.

It looks perfect in Firefox now but my rollovers dont work in Opera. Can anyone tell me why?

Also if there are any Mac users, does my page work in Safari?

Why not fix these errors though

http://validator.w3.org/check?verbos.../wardrobe.html

http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/v.../wardrobe.html

your messing up on some key thing in both you HTML and CSS.. id definitly fix that... search engines cant read through dirty HTML and poor CSS can mess up in browsers..

Im an avid pusher of clean code.. when you have 52 HTML errors something is WRONG and should be fixed

Hi

i know about the errors but I think they happen to be due to Tripod/Lycos's added html.

The CSS error is done on purpose. I added layer-background-image because it works in Internet Explorer and that speeds up the rollover. It doesnt affect anything in other browsers though.

The html errors are due to Tripod/Lycos's advertisements.
