<h3> Hey Guys im just new here </h3>

Just found the site...been a webmaster for about 5 years (since i was 13) and well now im doing proper sites without the need to use those horrible templates and plus i have started on a college course in scotland called HNC MULTIMEDIA COMPUTING: Web Development which requires that i hand code a website including CSS...i have never used css before so i thought this would be fun and im pulling my hair out because of it...

anyway on to my questions

how do u fit a javascript date into a css page or is there such thing as a css date counter (if you can call it that)

also

how do u do the drop down menu bar, iow when you click on for example home (not a good example) a part drops down and has main home, cool home and home sweet home.

i hope that makes sence

ok here is a good question that the w3schools cant answer....

i have made the #example {position:absolute....etc} quote in my css and the <span id = "example"> tag in my html is there a way that i can put a roll over effect on it and i have already made the roll over effects

I guess you are testing in IE then,

IE doesn't support "hover" on anything other than <a> (anchor) elements (incorrectly of course). however you can add a "behavior" with a .htc file to correct this. See CSS Hover

You can also make the anchor elements hover attributes fill the parent container by setting the display property to block. as I've done here CSS Rollovers. But then you have to careful not to wrap them in in-line elements such as <span>

I think im in here up to my eye balls in it haha...i'll wait till i can atleast use css well before i start using it with rollover effects etc

you can just set different classes/divisions for the <a> tag so that rollovers will work in all browsers......

1. I wasn't laughing at the guy? I was simply suprised... It seems to me that after a few years in webdesign, you either go into flahs, or css. Everyone I know that has been webdesiging for more than a year or two is into either flash or css now...
2. My site is practically pure css... Assuming you actually went to MY site... Besides, the design is over a year old. I have made a new design but have put all my projects on hold for my exams...

You don't put Javascript into CSS. CSS is not like HTML, it is used to (roughly) set the paramteres for the design of the website. And if you are at college learning it the proper way, then you should have been taught about CSS. I have learnt just by pure self-teaching. I did this by experimenting, trying out different things until I understood how it worked. Then I looked at a reference on Webeditor 6 and it went through all the different stuff.
