I have a page I put together with CSS and XHTML. All coding is validated and error free according to W3C. Everything looks good in every browser I have tested it in *except* IE:Mac. I am sure it is simply a matter of changing a couple lines of code to be IE "friendly" ... but I can't seem to figure it out.

I was hoping someone could take a look at my CSS and see if there is something I can do to make it IE:Mac friendly? I fresh set of eyes should help.

Here is the URL to my page:
http://www.eaglegfx.com/preview/kcvb...=2005&curmo=12

Here is the URL to the corresponding CSS document:
http://www.eaglegfx.com/preview/kcvb/styles/events.css

Thanks for any help!

The question you have to ask yourself is: Is it worth continuing to develop for IE Mac?

There are a couple of IE Mac CSS sites here and here if you need help with browser specific bugs, but the browser is more or less dead now.

I wouldn't say that. I know a few people who use IE on the Mac. I installed MacOSX the other day and IE was the default browser.

That is what I have been considering. Just too much of a headache. I may add a redirect to the former page layout just to keep accessibility for those that still use the browser.

But I agree about it being more or less dead. Microsoft has stopped developing [the Mac version] and even the latest version is really behind the times.

Thanks though!

Microsoft stopped developing and supporting Windows NT years ago, but lots of companies still use it. I think the same is true with Windows 2000 in fact...

I have to agree with Minaki. Less people use IE Mac than they used to, but I still get calls from people asking me to work out an issue for the browser when a customer has mentioned a site not working in it.

You do just need to decide if it's worth the effort for you on the given site based on how much traffic you expect to get. There are plenty of workarounds you can find online by searching.

I just looked at your site though and it didn't seem to be displaying correctly in Firefox or Opera. In fact it's not looking right at the moment in IE 6 on windows. Maybe you're working on it right now, but it seems there's more to fix than just for IE Mac

I wouldn't really worry too much about IE Mac, only a really small percentage of people use it anymore. At some point the people who refuse to update their browsers will have to (I still know people running Windows 95 with Netscape and IE 4 and it drives me crazy!)

Microsoft actually officially stopped supporting IE Mac around the Holidays (although they haven't really done anything with the browser for a few years now), and strongly recommend that people switch to Safari on their website, particularly because of security volnurabilities in IE.

Also, I don't know what version of OS X Minaki installed but IE isnt included in 10.4 Tiger and Safari is the default. If you are still worried about it, put a link to Firefox, Safari, Camino, or Opera on the site and encourage people to download one of them.
