Hi again guys! Hope you are all good...

I have yet another question!!!

I wish to use an image as a div background. I want the image to resize itself to the size of the div tag.

I want to use a slightly larger image than necessary so i can reuse in multiple places at different sizes.

Is this possible or do i need to make a graphic for each div at the correct size?

Cheers,

Jim.

Can't be done, sorry. Maybe with javascript, but I don't think it would be a good idea.

A graphic for each div ? What are you trying to accomplish ?

Thx for the reply LadynRed,

I wish to use a graphic as what i can only describe as would have been the background of a table cell but as a div tag.

If i have a slightly larger (more content/txt) div tag with the same styling i would like the image to resize.

So i can use a single image and reuse it across multiple div tags with out having to make a graphic of the right height and width for each div.

Hope that makes sense!

Cheers;]

i think i understand what you mean. it does depend on the images. if the images is like a gradient then yeah you can do what your asking, if its a picture of like a house. then no, as the images will just repeat its self, so it wouldnt be just one images it would repeat it and make it 2 of the same images under or next to each other, i might be wrong as im pretty much a noob . but trying to help as i have had alot of help from this forum

Hellhound you are correct. An image such as a tileable gradient or other graphcic would work, a photo would not. You can prevent an image such as a photo from repeating with "no-repeat" in the CSS rule for the background on the DIV.
