Sorry, but I'm not going to drudge thru a bunch of teeny-bopper web poo just to figure out what MySpace is doing with CSS. Perhaps if you had something SPECIFIC to post it might be more helpful.

Oh.. and the word is not "dose" it's D-O-E-S - "does".

darshdude I hope you haven't been offended and will continue to be an active member here. A couple of things though. You have started threads in the CSS forum before so I'm not really sure I understand why you were having trouble finding it.

As for the myspace issue it's just a lot for any of us to try to understand everything they do. I took a quick look at myspace just now and I think I would need to join in order to see how they let me skin a profile page. Since I don't have any desire at the moment to join myspace it's unlikely I'll be able to help with how they do it.

I would guess they have an interface that allows people to choose the colors for certain elements of the page and also allow you to upload images and audio, all of which I assume is stored in a database. I assume there's limited control of what each member can and can't do, but in all honestly I don't know since I'm not a member.

If you have some questions about how something specific is done we might be able to figure that out from the source of the page alone, but it's more work than most people are willing to do to try to answer the general question.

Hey, for what it's worth, I'm a member of MySpace, and neither I nor the vast majority of my 155-ish friends could be categorized as teeny-boppers. While that description may have been true of most members initially, the site has grown to over 50 million members, and is beginning to "mature," despite the fact that, yes, some teeny-boppers do still reside there. However, unlike message boards, it's pretty easy to forget they exist, since they don't come across your radar if you don't look for them. After finally getting serious about getting my profile set up and linking to some people and groups, I consider MySpace a solid place for activists, musicians and filmmakers (as well as others) to network and have a little fun.

I agree with epskionline. LadynRed if you just look at the web as a programmer and not as a user you cant go around making such statements, if myspace was so bad acording to you, why would it become so popular?

Does you can makes any better?

Depending on your business, MySpace is useful in a.) linking together a community and b.) could be a useful marketing tool.

For us, it's rather useful. We publish a B2B directory for the Independent Music Industry plus an award program for the best in indie music. I heard an indie band got a record-label through MySpace.

First, our page is set up as a band. I'm not sure how this will work if you have it as an individual.

I used two ways: the first is inline HTML or CSS commands in any section.

The second way is placing a CSS style sheet description in the Band Members section. For example....

<style type="text/css">
body {
cursorefault; background-color:FF9900;
border-width:8px;
border-color:..FF0000;
border-style:solid; }

</style>

You can also use http://www.picgames.com/forum/myspace-layout-editor.php to alter tables, etc.

One word of caution with using 3rd party "MySpace" programs & editors... someone I know got a virus from one.
