Hi,

I have some extra, unwanted padding in Microsoft Internet Explorer.

http://thewebdesignjournal.com/

It occurs right above the first <h2>.

How may I fix this so it looks the same in mIE as it does in Opera and Firefox?

Why ???

Nobody but nobody apart from you will ever look at the site in more than the default browser on the PC they happen to be on.

Provided it works ok and doesn't "break" in other browsers why on earth does it matter about 2 or 3 pixels that no one will notice or even care about.
It's simply more work and possibly "hacks" that will "break" in a future update for something that does not matter in the slightest.

Simply because it breaks the front page.

If it had been any other page I had might let it go. But not on the front page.

Any bugfix suggestions?

I have to agree, I don't see any breaking going on in IE6, Firefox 1.5 or Opera 8.5.

How many pixels of extra padding are YOU seeing ??
You might want to read up on the IE bugs here:

That's hardly 'breaking' your page. You're going to have to let go of the exact pixel thing. All the browsers will display just a hair differently and there's not a whole lot you can do about it. Accept that the page doesn't completely break down and looks fine, the only one noticing the extra 3 or 4 pixels is you.

I understand from a designer's perspective, but your perspective isn't what counts, its your audience that counts. As long as they see a nice readable page that's easy to navigate, they're pretty happy.

Did you read thru the bugs on the link I gave you ??

Seriously.. I would never have seen a difference if you had not pointed it out.. and your readers won't notice it either.

Hehe, my issue with this is that the rest of the content gets pushed further down. And some might miss it.
