Hi everybody:
First of all, thank you for taking the time to read my message.
Well, I'll explain what I need.
I have a website (http://www.esther-garcia.net) and I've read somewhere, that I could protect my text from being selected with JavaScript. The code I got from that page did not work and I can't find anything else. Furthermore, I would like to place this code in the style.css so I don't have to copy it in all my pages. Is there any way I can do this? Can you help me? Any suggestion or comment will be truthly apreciated.
I hope you can help me and thank you very much.
Esther.

Guess what.. If I disable javascript.. I can grab anything off your page that I want.. including all your text. I can also go to 'view source' and grab all the text.

See why the 'protection' really is NOT a viable solution ? Why are you worried about people stealing text anyway ?? Anyone determined enough is going to get it anyway.

What everyone else said.

HTML is client-side coding, which means the code itself is downloaded to a web browser. There are ways, as LadyNRed pointed out, to work around the Javascript and see the code anyway.

If you're really that concerned about people lifting your code, the best thing you can do has nothing to do with coding.

Burn your site regularly onto a CD.
Put the CD into a sealed manila envelope.
Mail it to yourself via regular mail, MAKING SURE NOT TO BREAK THE SEAL.

(There's supposed to be a notary public that witnesses it, but it's $60 and I fail to see why the postmark date and the unbroken seal wouldn't qualify as evidence.)
