Hello,
Do you know, if I know CSS, could I earn money with it?
Will I have some orders from clients distantly?
Or should I know some other technologies except CSS? WHAT are they?

I need your advices.

Oh, you could definitely do it as a job on it's own, but you would also have to know XHTML/HTML very well too.

...Of course, there are plenty of people who make a living building sites. As for CSS, I get the distinct impression that the demand for knowledgeable stylists outstrips supply. However, the overall demand is still less than for Flash or strong database skills.

I think you would need to know more than just css (obviously you would need to know (x)html too), but css is certainly a marketable skill. I have clients who come to me specifically for my css knowledge.

I think most employers today expect (or at least desire) a lot of skills. They might also want you to know JavaScript or Flash, or maybe a server side scripting language, etc.

I'm sure though there are some who will hite you based on xhtml and css alone.

Also it's not just about knowing, it's about doing. It's all well and good 'knowing CSS' but if you can't put it into something decent then it's useless.

It's possible to make a living just knowing CSS, but probably very very difficult. Since so many people out there know so much more than just CSS, you'd have a LOT of competition.

Thank you for your advices very much!!! I already know (x)HTML. And today bought a book about JavaScript.

P.S. I can say that people, that are in this forum much and much clever than in our russian forums. I stay more and more time in English forums only, but I hope that our forums will be more better in future

Webmaster-Talk.com Webmaster Forum - Web Design, Coding, SEO Forums possibly, although you'll have to sell yourself way short in order to do it.

If you can establish yourself as a knowledgeable type, Guru.com - The world's largest online marketplace for freelance talent. isn't too bad.

Having said all of that, Minaki is the person that's the most on the mark. Most of the potential clients you'll pick up will have never heard of CSS, never mind know what it is or what it can do. You can sit there and tell people until you're blue in the face about it, but most of the time you'll be speaking Greek to them.

It's not what you know, but it's how you apply what you know. Show people what you've built, and you don't have to tell them what's behind it. Those employers interested in really finding out will be able to tell easy enough from your work, and those who don't...well, they don't want to know, so don't tell them.
