I have gotten my design looking the way I want it to, but I am having trouble making the code compliant with everything and it really needs cleaned up. I am using absolute positioning for everything. Could someone please provide a bit of guidance to clean up the way I am creating the site.

As for the CSS, using position: absolute for everything is not a good idea. It's a common mistake that newbies make, thinking it will be 'perfect'. Unfortunately, it can cause more problems. I don't see anything there that you could not accomplish with normal document flow and a floated layout.
