I got my layout to display fine in Safari, Camino & FireFox, but apparently in IE the top navigation is overlapping the header .. Do i have to hack it or is it just slopping coding on my part?

This is what it's supposed to look like (minus the logos):

This is the live page w/ inline CSS:

Any help is greatly appreciated

Have you tried makin the margin-top??...you have only "margin" set so as far as I know the explorer reads it kind of funny...it worked for me changing it to "margi-top"

It's because of the absolute positioning on your navigation - which isn't necessary as far as I can see. Take it off and use the normal document flow.

Zero out the margins and padding on the body, remove the 37px top margin on #header and it will all snug up together just as you want it.

OK, another question .... How do i get the footer to sit at the bottom of the page? So far just about everything i've tried breaks the crap out of the layout...

man everytime i think i'm getting the hang of this i take a step forward and fall flat on my face!

You cannot make a footer sit at the bottom of the page and have it work correctly in every instance of content length.

You can of course make the footer container sit at the very end of all other relative and static containers, which will put it at the bottom of the visible window if the content only extends that far.
