I am attempting to create an HTML document with 2 pages. I would like both page's contents to be within a border of style ='double'. I am using a page-break to force some formatting. For some reason only the second page prints with the border. As it is, I have an inline border style for the top half and have created a div.border class for the bottom half. Why is it that only the second half is getting formatting? Any ideas?

Are you using a print stylesheet ?
Is the problem only in 1 browser ?

No I am trying to make two borders, 1 on each page, using a class and inline style. Can this be done?

I'm not sure I am explaining myself very well. I know how to create a 'print friendly' version of a document using a linking style sheet. What I need, is for a border to stop at a page-break and resume at the following page. Page 1 text wrapped in a border, then page 2 text wrapped in a border. That is all. So far, just the latter (page 2) half gets the border when printed (attached). I don't see anywhere in these tutorials an explaination how to preserve formatting. I'm not concerned with things like font size, margins, menus, etc. Does this make sense?

Ya, the darn thing finishes the border on the first line of the second page.. It's challenges like these... I tell ya. haha

So I got it to work. It would appear that you were right all along. For some reason if I define two differant classes (p.border1;p.border2) in a CSS file and then just link this style sheet to my my HTML it works. I'm a bit confused as to why this can't just be done using inline styles using closing </p> tags. Or by defining these same classes within my <head>. Don't mess with what works!
