When making horizontal lists for navigation, do you display inline, or do you float? I'm reading a book where the author (a well know css guru) suggests that displaying it inline is buggy. He suggests floating the lists.

The inline method seems to be the easiest. And the floated lists have to be cleared somehow, which means adding more markup. Whats a guy to do?

Clearing isn't all that big a deal, really. I use the <br> method, with 0 height etc. and it works just dandy.

I tend to use display:inline and haven't had much trouble with it. I have also used floats. Each method has it's bug-a-boos.
