ok i am going to have my post number show up on the right side really big but i want it in the background so the line spacing doesnt effect the rest of the stuff
how could i do this?

Can't you just make a separate class for your post number and set it to have different line spacing?

isolate it from the rest of the "stuff" with absolute positioning of a seperate container,

put it in a seperate "floated" container
