http://testserver.driftmedia.ca/css/index.html

This is the page (css file can be located in code)

However, when viewed in IE6 we get this problem:

http://testserver.driftmedia.ca/css/Outlook2.jpg

http://testserver.driftmedia.ca/css/Outlook3.jpg

There is extra spacing in the header below the login box, and tonns of space between the about us section and the flash linkbar.

It works fine in IE7, Firefox and Opera - which tells me i did something right. However the person I'm doing this for has IE6 - and their IT dept has yet to sanction an upgrade...so I have to live in the past with this one - can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

I don't usually help people with document types of transitional, because I don't understand the behaviour it takes towards rendering.

My only suggestion would be counter it with negative margins/padding on the element involved if possible, or try overflow: hidden; but this may make content disappear.

Cheers,

MC

The problem more than likely stems from the use of tables for layout than problems with the actual margins.

Reset all your padding and margin...

Add this line...

html {
padding:0;
margin:0;
}
