Stupid IE 7 Changing My Images

Hello,

IE 7 (as always) is not correctly showing my images, as well as not correctly lining them up.

It appears to be actually changing the image resolutions and quality, and size, all while lining them up all wrong.

To see it correctly, one must view it in FireFox or Opera or Safari, but to see what grotesque things I have mentioned, the big blue E.

Thanks in advance for the help,

Carter

It's all a matter of size. You change the size you change the quality, way it will be aligned, etc. If you're specifying size in percentages this is probably your problem. It sounds as if you're using the images for formatting. That's the only reason this would be an issue. Using images for formatting is bad. Use divs and (I know so many people disagree with this.. Especially Lady :S) or tables to format instead and have them do the image formatting for you.

I hate it when I do that.

Sorry, it was kinda late-ish, I guess.

@Mattmaul1992 - Not changing the size (or else it would be jacked up in FF too) and I don't understand what you mean formatting, if you mean layout, then yes, but if you mean something weird, like text in my images (to format the text maybe?) then certainly no.

carter: the simplest thing to do would be to make a single page background rather than split it up into two the way you have it there. Basically, do it from the top of the blue part to the bottom of the grey/white gradient.

That will work for both IE and everything else.

Yes, that's what I meant (layout formatting). I didn't have the link then so I wasn't sure what was causing it and that was my wild guess .

@Adam Web Design - totally thought about that, but then I would have to use alpha transparency (not supported in IE 6 as I'm sure you know), or do some absolute positioning (which IE 6 & 7 always show differently than FF), either way I'd have it show up wrong in IE.

I will however, continue to look at this option for other ways around it, maybe you have another suggestion.

@mattmaul1992 - yes, that was my bad, forgetting the link. Thanks for the attempt. Now that you can see the code, what would you suggest I do?

thanks both of you guys,
