Hello, guys!

Can you share your experience in creating css-driven popups?
I'm talking about pure css popus that appear on mouseover action with no java-script evolved. You can see realization in my portfolio at http://boradesign.net/webdesign However this works in IE and FF, but not so good in Opera. Can anyone suggest some universal css solution to work in major browsers. Please show some of your code for css-driven popups (with text or images inside). Also can anyone suggest css popup based on a:hover but containing some working link on popup's body.
Please post all your suggestions and code here.

Also a little poll goes with this tread.

Thank you all for your time and kind regards, Ivan.

I use a hybrid of CSS and Javascript that I created myself. The reason I do so is because there is no CSS solution that will allow me to put the mouseout effect on a timer and thus prevent accidental mouse movement losing the menu.

I would, but the only site I'm using it for right now is under construction and I need to write some hacks to get it to work in IE6.

I used Eric Meyer's Pure CSS Popups. It works great, but because of some tweaking I did, it looks wierd in IE 6 & 7.

I looked at your code, I'm not quite sure what method you used, but I have found this one to work great.

You may have used a modified version of this, but if not, good luck with it. It's great.

CSS popups are the only way to go as not all browsers have JavaScript enabled and not all have the Flash plugin installed. However, all browsers can read CSS which means a CSS popup will be displayed no matter what browser it is displayed in, even on a mobile phone.
