Never heard of NameCheap, but GoDaddy is reputable and stable, it'll be around for a long time. I'd go with GoDaddy.

There has been talk of GoDaddy sometimes seizing domains for their own use if they are popular. I use Simply.com which I've found to be very useful and professional. I've heard of NameCheap although I haven't used them or heard that much about their reputation

Godaddy does take good names like chatsonline.com and charge more. But i still say godaddy is better.

Godaddy has never "seized" a domain, unless in fact they haven't paid for it.

I have used Namecheap for years, and they are super easy to use, their support is also really good.

They now offer hosting too, I might add.

If you register a domain name and want to push it to someone it's instant as well. There are a ton of
coupons out there (couponcraze.com I believe has a lot) that will allow you to get a domain from
NameCheap for even less.

I can't comment on GoDaddy as I've never bought from them, but I have friends that say they are great. I prefer NameCheap. I've used them for years and have received excellent service. Plus, they are pretty quick with their customer service. I've never had to wait more than a couple of hours for a response.

Overall, both are considered the best of all the registrars. I don't think you can go wrong picking either one.

I've never had experience with Godaddy myself but I am sure I've heard stories about Godaddy seizing domains occasionally which puts me off them - their prices are very low though

After doing a little more searching on Google, I don't like some of the stories I've read about GoDaddy.

They cannot legally do that.

They have started charging more for popular domain names, which I think is piracy but probably not illegal. We have 120 domain names registered with them and we have not had a single problem with any of them. We HAVE had problems with OTHER registrars and re-sellers but not GoDaddy.

NameCheap has the best customers service, super easy to use control panel. the DNS updated is super fast, sometimes not even 5 mins...I highly recommend

I use both GoDaddy and Namecheap. Namecheap has slightly cheaper domains and much cheaper whois privacy (if you are into that). I prefer Namecheap's interface over GoDaddy's; it's really easy to change domain settings, and you don't have to wait as long for most settings to change.

I have not had a problem with either company.

By the way, Namecheap isn't really a registrar, it is an Enom reseller. (Enom is the registrar.) It's not really important though from the domain-buying point of view, but it may explain why some people may not have heard of them.

Ok i use both
Both are very good but namecheap went out there way to help me where godaddy are very big and not that they dont care but there was no love in any of my repleys from them.
But godaddy has a great market place for old domains. but name cheap has that two.

I wouldn't buy from a reseller, least of all ENOM. We have had no end of trouble dealing with ENOM, their customer service stinks and their attitude is worse. They pirated 2 domains and are holding them for ransom by asking ridiculous prices... and we told them to get stuffed. We've had to transfer TWO domain names AWAY from ENOM and it had to be THE most painful transfers I have ever had to do.
