Hi,
I just thought i would share my story of www.names.co.uk
I purchased web hosting from them 2 years ago at £25 for 250mb space and 2.5gb bandwidth (No MYSQL or PHP) and my domain for free, when i had the renewal it came to £60! So i left, now is the time for my Domain to be renewed on 11th October, and i have received loads of E-mails and a letter from them telling me it is due to be renewed and to my amazement they are trying to charge me £23 for 2 years registration when new registrations are £9.99 on their site, i phoned them up and i was told that nomninet (.uk domain authorities) told them how much they had to sell their domains for, so i called Nomninet to find out what Names Co told me was a total lie and they charge Names Co £5 per domain registration. To leave Names Co Names are still charging me £12 to transfer the domain (Plus £6 for the new registrar), when other registrar's charge the normal amount for renewing domains (Usually £6 for 2 years) and Names Co is charging 300% more to renew a domain i think it is wrong and i don't know why they are still in business.
Companies like Heart Internet (Which has 24 hour support unlike names) take 9 pence profit and the rest goes to Nomninet and Names are taking over £15 profit i think this is extreamily wrong of them.
Thanks for reading,
Reece.
