I was curious if its possible to incorporate a search function into a website for searching to see if domains are taken or not. I hate telling potential customers to go to register.com or similar to see if their domain is available. I always tell them there are better cheaper places to register domains etc. But it would be great if I could add some kind of feature to my own site for this so I dont have to send them somewhere else first. Im sure many of you have gone through this if you are designers and have your own website. Anyway, if anyone else has thought about this Im curious for more opinions. Thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution for the coding part. But...

I always offer to do the domain purchasing for my customers. It's one less hassle for them
to deal with. Then, after all work is done and payment received, I transfer it to them.

Edit - My service is web design, if that's what you're talking about. You didn't say.

Most registrars will have a search box in there affiliate program that you can simply integrate onto your site. Not only can you let them search... you make a bit of pocket money aswell.
