I am about to make a site that allows people to upload full length movies and videos (like youtube), allows people to convert and download these videos (like vixy.net), have forums, gives out email accounts (like gmail) and allows people to make an online profile (like myspace).

What should I name it?

Please dont give me names that remind people of YouTube or have the Tube affix in it. Also, make them catchy, so like, when people say "Youtube it" in discussions, they can also say "YOUR SUGGESTION HERE it".

It doesn't matter what the domain name is.

treat it like you would a BUSINESS name. Would you call your business

Apartment-12a-Slaughterhouse-Lane.com just because that happens to be the address?

I think better to go with .tv tld with any suitable domain name.

and if you follow that suggestion ... then how about allmyown ...
so you end up All My Own dot TV

or even leave off the "all" and get My Own dot TV

If you are looking for ideas go through a site that sells domains like buydomains.com or sedo.com and see if you can come up with something.

YOu can just type a word or key phrase of your liking and enter the max length you want and wholaah you will get plenty of available domain name suggestions

I would go with something short and brandable - not using keywords in the url - eg blinkx.com

These are great suggestions, and I like myown.tv a lot, but Im not so sure how great a .tv domain will do. People tend to remember .com's much more easily, no?

Not necessarily, if your site appealing enough, they should remember it.
