I have some friends who have godaddy and do nothing but complain. I use domainsite, but does anyone use godaddy and like them? I personally hate them and slam them every chance I get. I think they have way too much bloat and their service is crap. It takes forever just for domains to propagate sometimes. My domain service it's like instant, all the time, 10 minutes, maybe an hour if things are busy. I realize godaddy has a lot more names so they time everything with crons, but I mean cmon, I used netsol for years and even they weren't that slow. I only changed because I got sick of paying $35/yr for a domain.

I use both godaddy and domainsite.

I can not see much difference between them.

so what do you like about them? Do you use them for hosting too or just DNS?

I should have specified I meant solely for domains, but I thought it was clear enough...

I use both godaddy and domainsite, but don't like much either, but still i prefer domainsite over godaddy. Domainsite really needs to do a major upgrade to their site code, it has lots of bugs, but i really like their pricing.

I only use them as a registrar. I like to keep domain registration and hosting separate. GoDaddy has an easy interface to manage domains and I've never had any problems with them.

Are they better than all other registrars? Couldn't really tell you since I've only used a few. Registrars are one of those things that unless they give you problems there's not much reason to look elsewhere. Most are basically offering the same thing and at similar prices.

I used to use another host, but thier service went down the toilet. I have and will start using GoDaddy hosting from now on because I like thier prices and thier allowence of using your own php.ini customizations. I also think they have reliable hosting services as well.

godaddy is great if you use promotional coupons when registering domains, otherwise prices for domains are bit on the high side

OYH3 - $3 off / $6.95 any .COM (seems to work on renewals as well)

I have about 200 domains with GoDaddy. I've never really had any trouble with them.

I've dealt with a number of registrars over the years.

Only register.com would never get my business again.

+1

Also, their 24 hour phone support is excellent. I've had to rely on it several times while transfering domains and they have always been very helpful.
