Some domain registars are offering 100 year registrations, what I would like to know is... whats the whole point? Who knows if domains will be around in a couple years, maybe there would be something else that would take the place of domains.

So, every 100 year domain registrations ($900) you have, you pretty much wasted it.

Also you will purchase this '100 year registration' when your 18 (im sure someone under that age wouldnt spent $900 when they can buy themselfs a car or something) Then once you die, the registar would just drop it.

The only thing it would be good for is if its for a big company which would be around for more then 100 years, even then, the company can be bought or get a new name..
