I'm sure you can find some good articles on domaining, as well as relevant news on the Daily Domainer. Be sure to check out the DNforum and NamePros forums as well...

Sahar Sarid wrote what I thought was a great article for beginning domainers, and said that you should make it a point to spend $30/day without fail. Don't have time to dig up the post right now but his whole blog is pretty new and packed with good stuff so I'd recommend reading it cover to cover.
