A couple of observations..

Do you think there is a healthy porn market online??

Do you think John Reese made a smart move buying Income.com??

Are men more active online than women? Sex and beer are primarily male dominated markets ... business is actually also male dominated.

Of course the above are stats regarding domain name sales. If you look at overall web properties and which of them sold for the most, you'd have to toss in MySpace, Skype, Hotmail, PayPal, etc.

I wouldn't say the adult industry online is at all "healthy"... Its a very big industry but not something I think people should be involved in on the earning side of things.

I'd definitely say there are more men online than women. Because of course "there are no girls on the internet"

Those 5 will soon vanish as the value of domains is on the rise QUICKLY!

According to my email messages, IM messages, myspace messages, and every website I visit, there is women all over the web and they ALL want to meet ME for intimate encounters!!!! Strangly though, they all say they're from Milton, which is a teeny tiny town with a population of about 600. Domains are becoming cheaper. I saw a site where you can only buy 1 domain for $2.

I agree with the poster above. The porn industry is in no way healthy. Its destructive. On many levels.

I know what would be more expensive than them if they went for sale. These would be Google.com, yahoo.com and msn.com

I would take sex.com over google.com any day. In fact, I don't believe google.com as a domain is worth much at all - what would you do with it? I can't provide the services google provide in a million years, and without those, Google is nothing. However, I'm sure I could come up with something to monetise with all that sex.com type-in traffic...

Hell yes. I'll almost guarantee you that the press and attention that he's generated on that site has already paid for the price tag, even if the checks haven't arrived yet. And the site hasn't even been launched!

Wealth.com was on the auction block just this week and I wanted it but the price was too high for me right now.

Presence and potential are funny things. Separate, but inexorably linked. Presence.... and potential.

Domain values are on an increasingly insane ride north.

Just look at Seniors.com sold for $1,800,000 @ Moniker/
T.R.A.F.F.I.C.

Tandberg.com sold for $1,500,000 in a Pvt Sale

Scores.com sold for $1,180,000 @ Moniker

Chinese.com sold for €810,001 = $1,120,008

I just can't wait until the 4 letter domain names reach the selling levels of the 3 letter .com's. Is 5 letters the next level, most of me wants to say no, the other part says yes, only maybe not in my nearby lifetime estimates.

Strange how I love this stuff and my largest sale to date was rucq.com for $90.

Whats funny about this sale is that they still have the domain name on a Godaddy parked page. LOL. (They are not making money off the parked page, Godaddy is.) This is sooo foolish. They could at least park it with a parking company and make money for themselves while they are developing the site. But instead they choose to have it on Godaddy's parked servers. The term Chinese gets searched 499,769 times a month.

Lately with all the high dollar domain name sales one must stop and look what all of these high dollar domain names are being used for. We also wonder what premium domain names that were not sold on the aftermarket are used for as well. We all know that one can generate more money with a fully developed website rather than just parking them. Recently Succeedwiththis.com wrote an article where he lists the top 30 domain names that are not being used/developed.

Single Page with a simple logo.

The adult industry is one of the largest on the internet. This domain should be fully developed, branded, and marketed, not parked.

Another very valuable domain that is simply parked.

Both of these cound be an instant success.
Instead, Alien.com is a 404 page!!
And Ufo.com is a parked page.

A weird looking search engine. Another great 3 letter domain put to waste.

I have a .com/.org/.net three letter domain set.

It's a palindrome, and has a meaning in a few languages.

Problem is there is a German company which is named as such.

Interestingly there are several variants (mobi, etc.) types registered for MFA/squatter(s).

I have had this set since 94.

I would love to put it up for sale, but would hate the German company to come after me through ICANN and take it...
