Me and some friends are making a website with a very low budget. We have made one on googlepages, but are really in need of a domain name. If anyone could please help us find a way to get a free domain name, that would be great. If anyone can help me with this, I will advertise their site.

You might try some forums who are offering incentives based on member activities.

Hosting is more expensive than domain name. You can find a service that offers free domains with hosting. But I don't recommend it to you.

Try freewebs.com, you have to type a ".webs.com" extention at the end of your address at the url bar and your site won't appear on any search engines but for a personal site its fine. But I agree with the others, domain names are probably the only inexensive thing about keeping websites.

Oh, it's not a personal website, we were asked to do a report on a famous celebrity hoax, and we picked Paul is Dead. We made the site on googlepages for the report, and got HUGE student feedback. And also, me and the other person doing it are really huge Beatles fans. So it would be awesome to have our website's own domain.

If your budget is lower than buying a domain name, then how are you going to build the website? and what about your earnings now?
