Hello,

I need to tranfer my domain from one registrant to another. Can I do that if my domain is privately registered?

Hmm,

my new registrant got this information:

Quote:
You may not be able to transfer the domain if it is locked with your current
registrar, you already registered it with us, the name includes profanity, or it's
privately registered. Also it is prohibit transferring a domain name that has been
registered or previously transferred within the last 60 days.
Domain is already unlocked
Never has been transfered so far.

I dont know where is problem.

Yes, more than 60 days (more than 2 years).
Domain is still privately registered if you mean that.

you need to release the private registration so the receiving registrar can update the tag

Private registration is a great defense against spam. However, if you're a company, it looks a little deceptive to have your whois info hidden.

You may transfer a private registered domain, but you must first unlock it, and turn of the privacy setting first and then you can transfer it and reset the lock and privacy with the new registrar.

How much time do you have till it expires? You can't transfer domain names when it has less then 60 days till expiration date

I have lately myself been researching alot on the subject of domain privacy services and this is what i have learned and my conclusion.

domain privacy services are indeed "useful" for those that want to cloak there registrar information.
However, there are authorities or governing figures or institutions that can still gain access to that information.
The average joe public will only see the cloaked supplied registrar information.
Effictively doing its job as far as I.D theft or spamming goes.
But there are stories circulating of DPS's (Domain Privacy Services) folding almost immediately to anyone requesting the registrars information.
It would appear as though the companies that sell this extra service are not completley full-proof to social engineering tactics and are easily led.

In any case check the terms of any DPS because they will normally state something along the lines of "we can and will release your submitted information at our pleasure and you will agree to these terms when you sign up".
Alot of people don't read the 'small print'...

I leave you with some other very informed reading on the ICANN (the Internet Coalition for Assigned Names and Numbers) and this very subject.

Thanks for good info. Godaddy privacy protection is managed by Domains By Proxy. From my experience their support is very good.

It was about 70-80 days.

Now my problem is little fixed. I paid to old registrar for renewal but I did not pay for private registration. I'll wait 60 days and then I'll try to move my site to new registrar.
